Spartans Topple Harrisburg 83-55

Box Score HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team picked up an important Region 19 victory on Thursday evening, downing the Hawks of Harrisburg Area Community College, 83-55, at the JW Evans PE Center.

Northampton jumped out to a 17-point halftime advantage and cruised to the 28 point victory, led by Elijah Hamilton (Atglen, PA/Octorara Jr/Sr) with 20 points and Ethan Sakwa (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mt. West) with 11.

"Always a tough environment at Harrisburg," commented Head Coach Brennan McCarthy, "proud of the guys for playing hard on the defensive end for 40 minutes and securing a Region victory."

Arkel Batts (Middletown, PA/Middletown) and Nile Mosby (Philadelphia, PA/Carver Engineering & Sciences) each added 10 points for the Spartans. 

Northampton improves to 17-8 overall, 10-4 in Region 19 and 10-2 in the EPAC with the win, their 10th straight victory over the Hawks.  Northampton is now 23-2 all-time vs. Harrisburg. 

Harrisburg falls to 1-20 overall, 1-14 in Region 19 and 1-12 in conference.

The Spartans stay on the road Saturday as they head down to Mays Landing, NJ to face the Buccaneers of Atlantic Cape Community College at 1pm.
