CHARLOTTE, NC - For the first time in program history, the Northampton Baseball team is ranked #1 in the country in the NJCAA Division III poll, released Monday afternoon by the national office. The Spartans, who were #2 last week, are currently 31-4 overall and have won 12 straight games.

"I'm really happy for the guys," commented veteran mentor Adrian Yaguez, "they have bought in from day one and continue to work tremendously hard every day.  It is definitely a nice honor and one of those checklist items that every program would like to achieve, but in the end, winning a regional championship and competing for a national championship are the ultimate goals."

A perennial top-10 team, the Spartans also achieved a then program-best #2 ranking back in 2019.

The Spartans will put their #1 ranking to the test on Tuesday when they travel to Schnecksville, PA to face Lehigh Carbon Community College.
