BLUE BELL, Pa. - The 2nd ranked Northampton baseball team picked up their program-record 40th win of the season on Wednesday afternoon, downing Montgomery County Community College, 7-2, at Dunbar Park.
Brandon Ratti (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) led the offense with a 3 for 5 performance that included a homerun, a double and 3 RBI.Â
Alexander Ruiz (Lancaster, PA/JP McCaskey) added 2 hits, including a double, and
Robert Furino (East Stroudsburg, PA/Pocono Mt. East) was 2 for 5 with a RBI.Â
Ben Mostosky (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) picked up his 6th win of the season, going 7.0 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits, while striking out 5.Â
Logan Magdits (Nazareth, PA/Pen Argyl) pitched the final 2 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits.Â
The Spartans move to 40-7 overall, 28-4 in Region 19 and 8-0 in the EPAC.
Montgomery falls to 10-16Â overall, 2-8 in the Region and 4-3 in conference play.Â
The Spartans will now take on Bergen Community College in their final Region 19 series of the season, with game one scheduled for Friday afternoon in Bethlehem. Games two and three will be played in Paramus, NJ on Saturday May 5th.Â
