Spartans Improve to 4-1 with Tri-Match Sweep

NEWTOWN, SQUARE, PA. - The Northampton women's volleyball team improved to 4-1 overall with a tri-match sweep of Harrisburg and Delaware County on Saturday at the Ellis Athletic Center.

Match One vs. Harrisburg - Won 3-1 (25-27, 25-19, 25-23, 26-24)
In the opening match, the Spartans dropped the first set and then recovered to take 3 straight to win the match, 3-1. 

Alyssa Eilenberger (Saylorsburg, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) recorded a season-high 17 kills, Kailen Felty (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) had 9 kills, 11 digs, 7 solo blocks and 20 assists and Leana Angelone (Coopersburg, PA/Faith Christian Academy) was credited with 40 assists. 

Mackenzie Davis (Warsaw, VA/Rappahannock (VA)) added 20 digs and Lexi Womack (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) registered 18 digs for the Spartans. 

Harrisburg falls to 1-2 with the loss. 


Match Two vs. Delaware County - Won 3-0 (25-7, 25-10, 25-10)
In the first matchup between the Spartans and the Phantoms since September 20, 2014, Northampton improved to 9-0 all-time vs. Delaware County with a 3-0 victory. 

Bella Dise (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) had 7 kills and Mackenzie Davis (Warsaw, VA/Rappahannock (VA)) notched 6 service aces as the Spartans earned the sweep. 

Kailen Felty (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) added 10 kills and 6 digs. 

Delaware County falls to 0-2 on the season with the loss. 

Northampton returns to action on Monday when they host Division II Harcum College at 6pm.
