BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's volleyball team clinched at least one home playoff match after downing Middlesex College and Harcum College in a home tri-match on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
MATCH ONE vs. MIDDLESEX - Won 3-1 (25-17, 22-25, 25-16, 25-20)
John Nice (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy) notched 11 kills, 5 service aces and 6 digs and
Zach Franges (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) had 35 assists as the Spartans downed Middlesex, 3-1.
Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) recorded 9 kills and 2 blocks,
Omarion Tembo (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) had 7 kills and
Matthew Gonzalez (Coopersburg, PA/Liberty) was credited with 20 digs.
MATCH TWO vs. HARCUM - Won 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-14)
Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) had 14 kills,
John Nice (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy) added 12 kills and
Brando Gomez (Allentown, PA/Building 21) recorded 8 kills, 6 digs, 2 blocks and 2 service aces as the Spartans downed Harcum.
Zach Franges (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) registered 37 assists, as Northampton clinched a home playoff match.
The two wins move Northampton to 13-2 overall and 11-2 in Region 19.
The Spartans end the regular season on Monday when they travel to Cranford, NJ to face Union County College at 6pm.
