CANANDAIGUA, NY - The Northampton men's volleyball team finished in 6th place at the NJCAA Invitational this weekend at Finger Lakes Community College, going 2-3 in the tournament, falling in their final match, 3-2, to #5 seed Bryant & Stratton (WI).
The Spartans jumped out to a 2-0 set advantage, but Bryant & Stratton rallied to tie the match at 2-2 and then won the deciding 5th set 15-9. "We just couldn't close it out," remarked Head Coach
Rachael Aquila, "we had our opportunities, but we simply could not make a big play when we needed to in order to turn the match back in our favor."
John Nice (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy) recorded 18 kills and 10 digs in his final match for the Spartans, while
Zach Franges (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) ended his Northampton career with 43 assists in the match.
Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) added 11 kills and
Matthew Gonzalez (Coopersburg, PA/Liberty) registered 16 digs.
The Spartans finish the 2025 season with an overall record of 16-7.
