BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 8th ranked Northampton women's volleyball team improved to 6-0 overall with a convincing 25-18, 25-2, 25-16 win over Bergen Community College on Monday night at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Sophomore Outside Hitter
Lexi Womack (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley), who was named EPAC Player of the Week on Monday, continued her outstanding play, collecting 13 kills and 16 digs.
Sophia Tyma (Bethlehem, PA/Lehigh Valley Academy) chipped in with 10 kills and
Kyra Miller (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) added 4 kills for the Spartans.
Samantha Nagy (Easton, PA/Easton) had 29 assists and 7 digs, while
Gianna Sciarra (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) recorded 5 service aces with 14 digs.
Emily Marcial (Allentown, PA/Executive Charter)Â added 4 aces plus 13 digs from the back row.
"Good solid effort," beamed Head Coach
Rachael Aquila after the win, "I thought we were solid all the away around tonight. We will get back on the floor tomorrow and keep working."
Northampton, which climbed to #8 in the NJCAA national poll this week, improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in Region 19.
Bergen falls to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the Region.
The Spartans hit the road on Wednesday night as they travel south to take on Community College of Philadelphia at 6pm.
