BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 2026 Northampton men's soccer season came to an end on Saturday afternoon, suffering a, 1-0, setback to visiting Atlantic Cape Community College in Region 19 action at Spartan Field.
The Spartans and Buccaneers found themselves in a deadlock, 0-0, through a back and forth first half and right through to the intermission. The scoreless trend was continuing deep into the second half, when Jancarlos Bados scored an unassisted goal in the 80th minute to put Atlantic Cape ahead, 1-0.
The visitors goal proved to be the game winner as the Spartans were unable to answer and saw time expire without being able to net the equalizer.
"Tough loss and not the way we wanted to see our season end," explained Spartans Head Coach
Mario Barrantes, "I am proud of our team and the way they hung in this season. We had our share of tough moments and all we can do is look ahead and work to get things turned around for our program."
Goalkeeper
Martin Severo (Allentown, PA/William Allen) had 4 saves for the Spartans in the loss.
Theo Jenkins (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) also saw action in goal in the second half for Northampton.
Northampton concludes their season at 4-9-2 overall and 4-8-2 in Region 19.
Atlantic Cape is 4-9-1 overall following the win and 4-9-1 in the Region.
