BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's volleyball team picked up a, 3-0, victory (25-23, 25-22, 25-23) on Sophomore Night over Harcum College on Wednesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Both teams battled for three close sets but the Spartans were able to come out ahead in each set for the 3-0 sweep.
"Fun match tonight for our team and on our sophomore night," explained Spartans Head Coach
Rachael Aquila, "We had some good energy from the start and we battled for each point and we were able to push through to take all three close sets for the win. It was nice to send off our three sophomores with a win on their night."
Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) had 12 kills with 1 ace and 13 digs plus 3 solo blocks to lead the Spartans.
Calvin Long (Allentown, PA/William Allen) added 9 kills with 1 ace and 4 digs while
Xander McDonald (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) had 7 kills and 6 digs.
Lucas Johnson (Glendale, AZ/Independence (AZ)) recorded 33 assists along with 2 aces and 4 digs.
Northampton improves to 4-9 overall and 4-9 in Region 19.
Harcum College is now 7-12 overall and 3-8 in the Region.
The Spartans wrap up the regular season on Monday, March 30th when they travel to Paterson, New Jersey to take on Passaic County Community College at 6pm at the Panther Gymnasium.
