PATERSON, NJ - The Northampton men's volleyball team fell on the road in straight sets, 3-0, (19-25, 18-25, 21-25) to Passaic County Community College on Monday evening in their regular season finale at the Panther Gymnasium.
The Spartans had defeated the Panthers, 3-1, on March 18th at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
"Tough loss to end the regular season," explained Spartans Head Coach
Rachael Aquila, " But, I feel we have a resilient group and we will get ourselves ready to compete in the playoffs. No matter what, proud of this group and look forward to seeing how we battle now that we have reached the post season."
Calvin Long (Allentown, PA/William Allen) led the Spartans with 9 kills, 1 service ace, 5 digs and a pair of blocks and
Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) recorded 6 kills, 2 assists and 12 digs in the loss to Passaic.
Fred Patton (Trexlertown, PA/Parkland) had 17 digs with 3 kills and 2 assists and
Lucas Johnson (Glendale, AZ/Independence (AZ)) recorded 20 assists and 2 kills.
Northampton ends the regular season at 4-10 overall and 4-10 in Region 19.
Passaic finishes the regular season at 9-12 overall and 6-8 in the Region.
The Spartans will now wait for playoff seeding to be officially released by the Region 19 Men's Volleyball committee later this week.
