MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Northampton Baseball team dropped two games on Sunday at the Ripken Complex, falling to Finger Lakes Community College, 13-10, and Terra State, 13-3.
GAME ONE vs FINGER LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE (Lost 13-10)
The Spartans were able to draw 14 walks but never got their bats going against the Lakers, being held to only 3 hits, stranding 10 runners on base.
Danny Qualteria (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) was 1-3 with 3 RBI while
Lukas Cokely (Montrose, PA/Montrose) was 1-2 with a double and 2 RBI.
Shane Henrick (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon) was 1-4 with a double.
Ben Mostosky (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) (1-1) took the loss on the mound, allowing 9 hits in 5 innings of work with 3 strikeouts.
GAME TWO vs TERRA STATE (Lost 13-3)
Northampton saw Terra State break open a 3-3 game in the bottom of the 4th inning, surrendering 4 runs with two outs, as the Spartans fell behind, 7-3, and were unable to recover.
Ben Warner (Alexandria, VA/Alexandria City (VA)) (0-1) suffered the loss on the mound, giving up 6 hits over 4 innings of work, while allowing only 1 earned run with 7 strikeouts.
Josh Brancy (Sparta. NJ/Sparta (NJ)) was 1-4 with a home run, his first of the season, with 2 RBI.
Lukas Cokely (Montrose, PA/Montrose) was 1-2 with a double and
Max Landis (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) was 1-3 with a double in the loss.
The Spartans slip to 2-3 overall.
Northampton is back on the field on Monday, March 9th for Day Three of their Spring Trip when they take on Henry Ford Community College at 12pm at the Ripken Experience Complex.
