Tucker Named Region 19 Athletics Director of the Year

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - Executive Director of Athletics Troy Tucker was named the recipient of the Region 19 / Ron Case Athletics Director of the Year Award at the recently conducted Region 19 Fall Meeting.  

Initiated in May 2016, the Region 19 Athletics Director of the Year award is named in honor of former Rowan College at Gloucester County Director of Athletics Ron Case, who guided the Roadrunner program to unprecedented success in addition to being a vital member of Region 19 with his service as women's director, treasurer, hosting championships and chairing numerous committees.  The award is, "Presented annually to a Region 19 Athletics Director for their commitment and positive contributions to their campus, the region and their surrounding communities."

Tucker was named Director of Athletics at Northampton Community College on June 2, 2008 and promoted to Executive Director of Athletics in February 2026.  One of the most highly decorated athletic administrators in the country, Tucker is a 5-time National Athletic Director of the Year (NACDA 2023, 2020, 2017, 2013 and NSCAA 1998).  Tucker was honored as the recipient of the 2023 NJCAA George E. Killian Award of Excellence, which is awarded annually to individuals that have demonstrated the ideals of voluntarism, achievement, service, leadership, and excellence as exemplified by its namesake.  In 2022, Tucker was the recipient of the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrator's (NATYCAA) highest honor, the L. William Miller Award, which is presented annually to a member of NATYCAA who demonstrates excellence in leadership, service and integrity in an athletics program at a two-year college or organization.
 
Serving in his 34th year in college athletics, Tucker is the only two-time recipient of the Region 19 Augie Eosso Award, (2016, 2020), the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an administrator, for his commitment and dedication to Region 19.  Tucker is also a recipient of the prestigious NJCAA Loyalty Award (2019).  The Loyalty Award is given to an active athletic director in the NJCAA membership that has worked to uphold the ideals of the organization. Significant to this award is leadership in an athletic program exemplifying excellence both on the field/court and in the classroom.

Tucker was honored in February of 2023 by D'Youville University, as they inducted him into their Athletics Hall of Fame for his contributions as the Director of Athletics from 1996 thru 1999. In May 2018, Tucker was honored with the Richardson Award of Excellence, presented to a Northampton employee in recognition of their commitment to the betterment of the College.   In March of 2018, Tucker was inducted into the Allegany County (NY) Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding contributions and commitment to athletics throughout his career.
