BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's volleyball team put together another strong effort to zip past visiting Ocean County College in straight sets (25-7, 25-19, 25-17) in Region 19 action on Monday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
"Good overall effort tonight and a nice way to start the week," stated Spartans Head Coach
Rachael Aquila, "I felt we dominated the net and that was good to see from our players upfront. We also did a nice job in the back row and that gave ourselves a chance to set and run our offense the way we can. Very pleased with the result and our flow tonight. We just need to keep going forward."
Kornelia Wszolek (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) and
Sophia Tyma (Bethlehem, PA/Lehigh Valley Academy) led the way at the front of the net with each recording 8 kills to pace the Spartans offense. Wszolek also added 2 service aces, 3 digs and 1 blocked shot.
Amanda Rivera (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) recorded 6 kills and 5 service aces with 4 digs.
Allie Keck (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) had 19 assists with 8 digs and
Emily Marcial (Allentown, PA/Executive Charter) picked up 17 digs and 3 service aces.
