Sam Chen

Samuel S. Chen

Samuel Chen is Assistant Professor of Political Science and oversees the political science program at Northampton Community College. He also directs the George S. McElwee Forum for Excellence in Public Service and sits on the Campus Democratic Engagement Coalition at the Center for Civic and Community Engagement.
 
Outside of Northampton, Chen serves as host and anchor of the news journal talk show Face the Issues and is the founder and principal director of The Liddell Group, an award-winning political, public policy, and communications strategy firm. He is also a member of the American Enterprise Institute, contributing to their leadership and education reform networks, and is a frequent guest for various news outlets, having appeared on NPR, Newsweek magazine, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Vice News, and others.
 
Chen is a proud alumnus of Emmaus High School (Emmaus, PA) and Baylor University (Waco, TX). A former swimmer and cross country runner, Chen has always been invested in the success of student athletes, especially outside of their sport. He previously worked with Baylor Bear Foundation to raise scholarship money for student athletes and he looks forward to working with students athletes at Northampton to excel in the classroom.
