BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The NCC men's and women's basketball teams will each take the court on Saturday, with the women hosting Camden County College at 1pm and the men taking on Burlington County College at 3pm.
The Lady Spartans enter their first Region XIX contest with an 0-4 record, after dropping two games last weekend in the Elite Coach & Limousine Tip-Off Tournament. NCC fell to Harford Community College (MD), 63-60 in game one and then lost to Division II Manor College, 82-57, in the consolation game. Krista Ruhle earned All-Tournament honors while Jenna Bartholomew turned in back-to-back double-doubles.
Camden County is ranked 8th in the country in the NJCAA preseason poll and is oming off a 21-9 season.
The NCC men's team is 0-3 entering Saturday's game, dropping two games in the Elite Coach & Limo Tip-Off tournament. The Spartans fell to Region III power Onondaga Community College, 85-75, in round one and then lost to Reading Area Community College, 80-69, in the consolation game. Brian Smith earned All-Tournament honors.
Head Coach Kevin Foley will welcome two new faces to the court this weekend as Richard Hollinger and Joe Bamford are both expected to see their first action of the 2009-10 season after sitting out with injuries.
Burlington, 0-2, is a fellow member of Region XIX, but competes at the NJCAA Division II level.
Tickets for the doubleheader are $5 for courtside seating, $3 for general admission and $1 for students. Children under 10 and NCC students and staff with ID are Free.
