BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The NCC women's basketball team picked up their second Region XIX victory of the season, defeating Gloucester County College 84-75 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.
Trailing by 3 with 13 seconds remaining in the game, the Spartans took possession and Ashley Slater was fouled sending her to the line for two shots. Slater made the first and missed the second, but sophomore Jenna Bartholomew grabbed the rebound and scored to tie the game at 72 with 4.1 seconds remaining.
The Spartans took control early in overtime and outscored the Roadrunners, 12-3, to earn the victory. Antoinette Wise led NCC with 20 points, while Slater added 18, Bartholomew 18 and Krista Ruhle 14 as the Spartans improved to 2-7 overall and 2-2 in Region XIX.
Alex Koutras led the Roadrunners (3-6) with 25 points.
Northampton travels to Sussex County Community College on December 3rd for a Region XIX tilt at 5:00pm.
