BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The NCC women's basketball team lost a heart-breaker on Thursday night, falling 64-62 in overtime, to Bucks County Community College.
With the score tied at 56 and 0.5 seconds remaining, the Spartans had a chance to win in regulation, but could not convert two free throws, which sent the game to overtime.
The teams continued to see-saw back and forth and the game looked to be headed to a second overtime until Bucks' Denise Altobelli (21 points) picked up a loose ball and converted a layup at the buzzer to secure the 64-62 victory.
Antoinette Wise led the Spartans with 18 points while
Jenna Bartholomew added 14.
The Spartans, now 0-2, host Harford Community College on Saturday at 2:00pm in the Elite Limousine & Coach Tip-Off Tournament.
