CRANFORD, NJ - The NCC men's basketball team dropped a heartbreaker on Thursday night, falling in overtime at Union County College, 82-81.

Kyle McCauley hit a runner with 12 seconds left in overtime to give Northampton an 81-80 lead, but after a Union miss a looseball foul was called with no time on the clock, sending Anthony Graham to the line. Graham banked in the first shot and converted the second to give Union the improbable one-point victory.
"I am speechless," remarked a visibly drained Kevin Foley, "this one really hurts."
Josh Vargas, who entered the game ranked 7th in the country in scoring at 23.4ppg, led the Spartans with 32 points, while Joey Bamford added 15 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
NCC, which falls to 8-10 overall and 6-7 in Region XIX, returns to action on Saturday January 23rd when they host Ocean County College at 2:00pm.
