BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Northampton freshman guard Josh Vargas (Faith Christian) is currently ranked 7th in the country in scoring at 23.4ppg, in the latest statistics released by the National Junior College Athletic Association on January 21st.

Vargas has helped lead the Spartans to an 8-9 overall record and a 6-6 mark in Region XIX heading into tonight's game at Union County College (Cranford, NJ) at 6:00pm.

Union defeated the Spartans in Bethlehem on December 1, 88-86 in overtime.  Vargas, who forced overtime that night with a driving layup with 3.6 seconds remaining, led NCC with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

The Spartans return home on Saturday when they host Ocean County College at 2:00pm.
