BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Joey Bamford (Warren Hills, NJ) scored 27 and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Northampton to an 89-73 upset of Middlesex Community College on Thursday night.
The Spartans, who played without
Josh Vargas and
Elliot Gumbs, connected on 10 three-pointers including 4 from sophomore
Tyler Rothrock who finished with 23 points and 6 rebounds.
"It was a great team victory," replied Head Coach Kevin Foley, "I am really proud of how the guys played, especially given the circumstances. A couple guys really stepped up on the offensive end, but the entire team played a great 40 minutes of basketball."
Kyle McCauley added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, while
Courtney Thomas chipped in with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
NCC improves to 9-12 overall and 7-9 in Region XIX.
The Spartans travel to Gloucester County College on Saturday to face the Roadrunners at 3:00pm.
Armon Wilson led Middlesex (9-8) with 19 points.
