TOMS RIVER, NJ - The NCC women's basketball team, ranked #2 in the country, overcame a late 5 point deficit to defeat Ocean County College, 65-63, on Saturday afternoon.
Trailing by five,
April Andrews got a steal and passed to
Halie Cintron who converted a 3-point play and Dee Brown added two free throws to lead the comeback.
Brown finished with 16 points and Cintron added 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead Northampton.
"It's a good win on the road in the Region," commented Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "but we committed way too many fouls ... we need to start moving our feet on defense and focus on getting better."
The Spartans, now 5-1 overall and 1-0 in Region XIX, travel to Passaic County Community College on November 23rd.
