BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team opened the 2010-11 campaign with a 72-55 non-conference victory over Montgomery County Community College on Thursday night.

April Andrews scored 17 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and had 7 steals to lead the Spartans.
Kiersten Young added 10 points as 13 of the 16 Spartans scored at least one points.
"It was a real team effort," remarked Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "I was real pleased with how the girls played for the first time out ... we definitely have some things to work on, but overall it was a good win."
NCC jumped out to a 34-19 lead at halftime and never looked back in moving to 1-0 on the season.
The Spartans will host Raritan Valley Community College on Saturday November 6th at 12:00pm in the first game of the Northampton / A-1 Limousine Tip-Off Tournament.
