Robinson's 31 Lead Spartans to Championship Game

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Freshman Ike Robinson scored a tournament-record 31 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead the NCC men's basketball team to a 113-100 victory over Raritan Valley Community College on Saturday night in the semi-finals of the Northampton / A-1 Limousine Tournament.

Robinson scored 16 of his points in the first half as the Spartans took a 54-35 lead to the locker room at the break.

Ralph Padilla finished with 25 points and 9 rebounds and Al Blount added 22 points and 8 assists to pace the Spartan attack.

"We definitely looked better on the offensive end tonight," remarked Head Coach Kevin Foley, "obviously our defense still needs a little work, but Raritan is solid squad, they worked for their points."

The win puts Northampton in the championship game on Sunday at 5:00pm vs. Onondaga Community College, who defeated Manor College 67-64 in the other semi-final.

Tyvon Efferson hauled down 11 rebounds and Josh Vargas added 16 points for the Spartans, now 1-1 on the season.

Anthony Baskerville led the Golden Lions with 26 points.  Raritan Valley will face Manor College in the consolation game at 3:00pm.
