BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The NCC men's basketball team followed in the footsteps of the women's team earlier in the day, defeating Onondaga Community College, to win the Northampton / A-1 Limousine Tournament Championship.
Tournament MVP Ike Robinson scored 28 points to lead the Spartans, including two free throws with 40 seconds remaining to break a 73-73 tie, as NCC pulled away for the 81-73 win.
Ralph Padilla chipped in with 15 points and 9 rebounds and All-Tournament Team selection
Al Blount added 15 points and 6 assists.
"It's a great feeling," remarked an emotionally drained Kevin Foley, "I am really proud of the guys, they put together two solid days of basketball against two very talented teams."
Onondaga, who falls to 1-1 overall, was led by All-Tournament Team selection Heath Stone's 20 points.
Dorrell Harrington of Manor College and Anthony Baskerville of Raritan Valley were also named to the All-Tournament team.
The Spartans, now 2-1 overall, host PSU-Schuylkill on November 10th at 8:00pm.
