LINCROFT, NJ - Brookdale Community College rallied from an 11 point halftime deficit to defeat Northampton, 92-89, in Region XIX men's basketball action on Saturday.
Brookdale took their first lead with 50 seconds remaining on a 4-point play by Kenny Bennett and the Spartans were unable to convert on two 3-point attempts in the final 10 seconds of play as the Jersey Blues completed the improbable comeback victory.
Ike Robinson scored 24 points and grabbed 6 rebounds,
Ralph Padilla had 21 points and 5 boards and
Josh Vargas added 20 points, including four 3-pointers to lead the Spartans.
"We had alot of missed opportunities," commented Head Coach Kevin Foley, "I don't think we took full advantage when they went to the triangle and two and we had some missed assignments in blocking out that really hurt us. We need to rebound from this and be ready to go vs. Sussex on Tuesday night."
Al Blount finished with 13 points and 11 assists for NCC, which falls to 8-5 overall and 5-2 in Region XIX.
The Spartans host Sussex County Community College on December 14th.
