MAYS LANDING, NJ - The scenario is very simple for the NCC Lady Spartans ... defeat Atlantic Cape Community College tonight and earn a playoff birth in their first season of NJCAA competition ... lose tonight and the season is over.
"We control our own destiny," remarked Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "I'm excited, tonight is basically a playoff game for us ... we'll see if we have what it takes."
The Spartans, who defeated Atlantic Cape 60-55 on January 15th in Bethlehem, are currently 10-15 overall and 9-10 in Region XIX. In order to qualify for the Region XIX playoffs a team must finish with either a .500 record overall or in league play.
Sophomore
Krista Ruhle scored 22 points back on January 15th when the two teams met, "We definitely do not want it to end," commented Ruhle, "the playoffs have been our goal all season."
