PATERSON, NJ - Passaic County Community College charged out to a 54-37 halftime lead and never let NCC get closer than 12 the rest of the game as the Spartans opened Region XIX play with a 107-88 loss on Saturday afternoon.
Ralph Padilla led Northampton with 20 points and 10 rebounds and
Jaylonn Tullis added 16 points and 8 boards to lead the Spartans.
"We still have a lot of work to do," lamented NCC Head Coach Kevin Foley, "bottom line, Passaic took it to us today ... we need to step up defensively and start taking it personally when someone scores on us."
Nick Nickle added 13 points for Northampton.
The loss drops NCC to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in Region XIX.
The Spartans will return to the hardwood on November 15th when they travel to Blue Bell, PA to face Montgomery County Community College at 7pm.
Karee Fisher led Passaic (2-0 / 2-0) with 33 points and Tyrell Brown added 21 as the Panthers converted 11 3-pointers.
