PARAMUS, NJ - After dropping 3 consecutive conference games by a total of 10 points, NCC Head Coach Kevin Foley was concerned about his team's mental state heading into Bergen Community College on Saturday. His concern was unfounded, as the Spartans picked up a crucial conference road win with a 69-61 victory.
"I'm very pleased with our effort, especially on the defensive end," stated Foley, "obviously the results of the last three games have been very tough to swallow, but they guys did a great job today staying focused and getting the W."
Ralph Padilla scored 16 points and
Jaylonn Tullis added 15 (12 in the second half) and 10 rebounds.
The win improves NCC to 4-7 overall and 3-5 in Region XIX.
The Spartans return to action on December 15th when they travel to undefeated Brookdale Community College.
The Jersey Blues are currently 8-0 overall and 7-0 in Region XIX and ranked 7th in the country, "It will be a good challenge for us," stated Foley, "obviously right now they are the team to beat, so we want to gauge were we stand."
Nick Nickle added 13 points and
Dontae Davis 10 for Northampton.
Bergen falls to 3-5 in conference play and 4-7 overall.
