VINELAND, NJ - The NCC women's basketball team closed out the first semester with an 82-60 victory over Cumberland County College on Thursday night, giving them their third consecutive victory heading into the holiday break.
NCC pulled away in the second half from a slim 9-point halftime lead as
Dee Brown,
Halie Cintron and
Alyssa Gibson each scored 18 points.
"Defensively we were exposed a little bit tonight," remarked Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "Alana Loyle (32 points) really hurt us and continually found ways to score ... but overall I will take it, road games before the holiday breaks are always tough."
NCC, 11-3 overall and 10-1 in Region XIX, is off until January 14th when they travel to Atlantic Cape Community College.
Cumberland ends the first half of the season with a 1-14 overall mark, 1-10 in conference action.
