BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Francis Battee scored 29 points, including six three-pointers, to lead Gloucester County College to a 76-60 victory over NCC on Thursday evening.
Poor shooting hindered the the Spartans all night, finishing at 37% overall, including a paltry 12% (3 for 25) from 3-point range.
Gloucester jumped out to a 14 point halftime advantage (39-25) and never looked back in winning their 10th Region XIX game of the year.
"We just never got into any offensive flow," remarked Head Coach Kevin Foley, "I don't know if it was the layoff or what, but I do know it must change quickly if we are going to make a run down the stretch."
The Spartans have 7 games in the next 13 days as they close out the regular season looking for their first playoff birth as a member of the NJCAA.
Josh Vargas scored 13 points and
Tyvon Efferson added 12 to lead Northampton.
NCC, which falls to 13-8 overall and 10-5 in Region XIX, hosts Brookdale Community College on Saturday at 2pm.
Gloucester improves to 11-11 overall and 10-6 in Region XIX.
