MAYS LANDING, NJ - Freshman Melanie Palko scored 14 points, including four 3-pointers, to help lead the NCC women's basketball team to a 71-48 victory over Atlantic Cape Community College on Tuesday evening.

Dee Brown added 12 points, 4 steals and 8 rebounds while point guard Catie Cardiello finished with 15 points and 6 assists.

"I'm glad to get this one over with," stated a relieved Head Coach Art Wolfe, "two road games in two nights ... I wasn't sure how we would react, but the girls did what they needed for us to get the victory."

Cara Siegfried had a team-high 13 rebounds as NCC improved to 18-5 overall and 14-2 in Region XIX.

The Spartans return to action on Thursday when they host Cumberland County College.  NCC downed the Dukes 72-53 when the teams first met on January 15th.
