BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
Tiara Aziz scored 16 points and
Kiersten Young added 15 as the Spartans cruised to an 82-42 victory over Sussex County Community College on Tuesday evening.
The Spartans struggled to pull away the first 10 minutes of the contest, but eventually their superior depth proved too much to overcome for the visiting Skylanders.
"We started slowly again, which has become a disturbing trend for us," remarked Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "but we got really solid play off the bench from
Jahnna Salazar (9 rebounds) and
Shana Clark (10 points) and I thought our guards did a good job controlling the tempo."
Halie Cintron added 13 points and
Alyssa Gibson had a team-high 4 assists and 5 steals.
7th ranked NCC improves to 15-3 overall and 14-1 in Region XIX.
The Spartans return to the hardwood on Saturday January 28th when they travel to Middlesex County College for a 12pm tip time.
