SCRANTON, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team improved to 2-0 with a 94-72 victory over Division II Lackawanna College on Thursday evening.
Tiara Aziz scored 20 points and had 5 assists as the Spartans jumped out to a 45-24 halftime lead and cruised to the 22 point victory.
"We struggled defensively in the second half," lamented Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "we did not bring the intensity to the floor after halftime and we can't allow that to happen if we want to compete for a Regional championship."
Alyssa Gibson added 18 points and Kaila Foster had a team-high 8 rebounds.
Northampton returns to action on Saturday at 1pm when they host Tompkins-Cortland Community College at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
Lackawanna falls to 1-2 with the loss.
