BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team, ranked #1 in the country, moved to 9-0 overall with an 86-61victory over Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
Tiara Aziz scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead a balanced attack for the Spartans, who improved to 3-0 in Region XIX.
Katie Schickling had 15 points,
Alyssa Gibson 15 and
Felicia Shaner 14 as NCC placed four players in double figures.
"Much better effort today," remarked Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "offensively we definitely played better than we did at Broome on Thursday, but give Harrisburg credit, they run some very nice sets and are very fundamentally sound."
Northampton returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to EPAC rival Lehigh Carbon Community College for a 6pm contest.
Harrisburg falls to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in Region XIX with the loss.
