LANCASTER, Pa. - Trailing 42-31 at halftime, Coach Kevin Foley made some defensive adjustments and the Northampton men's basketball team rallied in the second half for a 78-70 victory over Thaddeus Stevens College on Tuesday evening.
"Brewer (22) and Randall (27) were really taking it to us in the first half, so we made a few a changes on the defensive end and held them to 28 second half points," commented Foley, "but the real dagger was when
Dontae Davis(19 points) hit that three pointer to put us up 71-70 with 3 minutes to play ... that really broke their back."
Jaylonn Tullis scored a team-high 21 points and hauled down 16 rebounds, while
Andrew Miller added 13 points for Northampton, which improved to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in Region XIX/EPAC.
Stevens falls to 3-9 overall and 3-3 in Region XIX/EPAC.
Northampton returns to action on Thursday December 13th when they host PSU-Schuylkill in a non-conference matchup at 8pm. Thursday's game is the final home game of the semester for the Spartans, who still have road games at Delaware (Saturday) and Division II Essex County Community College (Tuesday).
