Spartans Overwhelm Delaware to Remain Unbeaten

MEDIA, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team was simply too big, too fast and too skilled for the Phantoms of Delaware County Community College, as they rolled to a 106-16 victory over DCCC on Saturday night at Widener University.

Delaware, in their first year of NJCAA competition, managed only 2 points in the first half as Northampton took a 54-2 lead into the locker room at the break.

Katie Schickling scored 24 points, Tiara Aziz 23, Tyquassia Porter 15 and Tanisha Blake 14 to lead a balanced attack.  Sophomore guard Alyssa Gibson recorded 8 steals and 7 assists and Blake added a team-high 11 rebounds.

Northampton, the #1 team in the country, improves to 14-0 overall and 6-0 in Region XIX / EPAC.

Delaware falls to 0-9 overall and 0-5 in league play.

NCC finishes the first semester on Tuesday night when they travel to Newark to face Division II Essex County Communty College.
