SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team won their 10th straight game, downing conference rival Lehigh Carbon Community College 67-50 in game that was closer than final score indicates.

The Spartans led 27-23 at halftime and extended that lead to 45-32 at the 11 minute mark, before LCCC rallied to cut the margin to 6 at 52-46 with 4 minutes left in the game.  Northampton then went on a 15-4 run to close the game and earn the 17 point victory.

"LCCC is the best team we have faced all year," commented Head Coach Art Wolfe, "they really exposed the middle of our zone defense, but we were able to utilize some pressure in the front court to turn the game in our favor."

Tiara Aziz had a great all-around game, with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals, while Tanisha Blake added 10 rebounds and 3 steals.

Northampton improves to 10-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

Lehigh Carbon falls to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

The #1 ranked Spartans return to action on Thursday evening when they host Ocean County College at 5:30pm at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
