Men's Basketball Wins 3rd Straight, Downs Ocean County College

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team won their 3rd consecutive game, downing Ocean County College 82-70 on Thursday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center to improve to 7-2 overall.

NCC jumped out to a 36-23 halftime lead, only to see the Vikings close the gap to 68-64 with under 5 minutes remaining.  The Spartans then closed the game with a 14-6 run to earn the victory.

Jaylonn Tullis led Northampton with 26 points and 15 rebounds and Andrew Miller added 22 points, including three 3-pointers.  Dontae Davis led a solid defensive effort, taking three charges, and recording 1 steal and a blocked shot.

"Ocean is a quality team, I thought we responded to their runs and did a better job executing offensively tonight," commented Head Coach Kevin Foley, "we need to continue to cut down our unforced turnovers, but overall a very solid effort tonight."

Ocean falls to 1-3 overall with the loss.

Northampton returns to action on Saturday when they travel to EPAC foe Bucks County Community College for a 2:00pm tip-off.
