NEWTOWN, Pa. - The Bucks County Community College men's basketball team was looking for a signature victory in their first season of NJCAA competition, but Northampton freshman Seth Stoudt made sure that it didn't happen on Saturday afternoon. Stoudt (15 points) scored 8 straight points in the closing minutes of the game to help NCC pull away for a 73-58 victory at the Centurian Center.
Bucks and Northamton were knotted at 28 at intermission and the game remained tight throughout the second half, until Stoudt got hot and provided the Spartans with some breathing room down the stretch.
"Seth had a big game for us today," remarked Head Coach Kevin Foley, who won his 50th career game at Northampton, "I thought the crowd took us out of it at the start and then we obviously struggled from the line, but Seth made some big plays for us to help us earn a tough road victory."
Dontae Davis scored a team-high 17 points and
Andrew Miller added 13 points and 11 rebounds, as Northampton remained undefeated in Region XIX and EPAC play at 5-0.
Bucks falls to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in Region XIX.
Northampton, now 8-2 overall, returns to the hardwood on Tuesday December 11th when they travel to Lancaster to face Thaddeus Stevens College in an Region XIX tilt.
