NEWTOWN, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team hit the century mark on Saturday in a 100 to 23 conference victory over Bucks County Community College on Saturday afternoon at the Centurian Center.
The Spartans sprinted out to a 43 point halftime lead at 53-10 and coasted to the 77 point victory.
Tanisha Blake scored 20 points to lead six players in double figures;
Alyssa Gibson (12),
Tiara Aziz (16),
Felicia Shaner (12),
Tyquassia Porter (11) and Kaila Foster (11).
Blake added 5 steals, Gibson had a season-high 9 assists and Foster pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Northampton off the glass.
Bucks County Community College, in their first season of NJCAA competition, falls to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
Northampton, the #1 team in the country for the second consecutive week, improves to 12-0 overall and 5-0 in league play.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday December 13th when they host Penn State Schuylkill in a non-conference matchup set for 6pm.
