BETHLEHEM, Pa. - While the end result was positive, the routine is becoming somewhat of a worry to NCC Head Coach
Art Wolfe, as the Lady Spartans overcame another slow start, battled back and then eventually downed Gloucester County College, 68-50, on Tuesday night.
"I can't put my finger on it," expressed Wolfe regarding the Spartans sluggish starts, "I wish I could, but I do know that it will come back to bite us sooner or later ... we need to find a way to play with passion and intensity from the opening tip. The last game that I remember that we really jumped out right from the start was vs. Ocean (December 17th) ... while we have obviously played well since then, we do need to put together a more consistent 40 minute effort."
Tiara Aziz led Northampton with 17 points and 10 teams and backcourt mate
Alyssa Gibson had a team-high 8 assists.
NCC, winners of 9 straight, improve to 17-3 overall and 16-1 in Region XIX.
Gloucester falls to 11-10 overall and 8-9 in Region play.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday as they host Brookdale Community College in a showdown for the top spot in Region XIX.
