BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Despite not playing since February 14th, the NCC women's basketball team shook off the cobwebs and defeated Gloucester County College, 84-67, on Tuesday night to advance to the Region XIX Final Four.
Northampton, which led the entire game, could never put the Roadrunners away. "Give them credit," remarked Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "everytime we got a 15-17 point lead, they would hit a couple big shots and get back in it. We definitely looked a little rusty tonight, especially on the defensive end."
Dee Brown scored a season-high 31 points and
Halie Cintron added 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead NCC.
The Lady Spartans now advance to the Region XIX Final Four for the second consecutive season. Second seeded NCC will face 3rd seeded Brookdale on Thursday March 1st at 6pm in Lincroft, NJ. The two teams split during the regular season, each winning on their home court.
NCC improves to 22-4 overall, while Gloucester finishes the season 13-14.
