BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
Halie Cintron scored 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out 6 assists and had 3 steals and 3 blocked shots to lead Northampton to a 77-50 victory over Atlantic Cape Community College on Tuesday evening.
Hosting their annual
Pink Zone event in support of cancer awareness, NCC jumped out to a 16-4 lead and never looked back, taking a 25 point lead to the locker room at halftime and coasting to the 27 point victory.
"This is a good win for us," commented Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "coming off the loss at Ocean on Saturday, I was a little worried how we would react and Atlantic had given us some trouble at their place back in January ... but the girls came out quickly and set the tempo and controlled the flow of the game."
Michelle Thomas added 15 points and 5 blocked shots and
Dee Brown had 5 assists to pace NCC.
Northampton, ranked 7th in the country, improves to 19-4 overall and 18-2 in Region XIX.
Atlantic Cape falls to 12-10 overall and 11-9 in league play.
NCC returns to action on Saturday when they host Bergen Community College at 12pm.
