Foley Releases 2012-13 Men's Basketball Schedule

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Northampton Head Men's Basketball Coach Kevin Foley has released the Spartan's 2012-13 schedule, which is highlighted by a spot in the Herkimer County Community College Invitational Tournament on January 12th and 13th, in addition to a non-conference tilt vs. defending Region XIX champion Brookdale Community College on November 29th.

The 2012-13 season will mark the inaugural year of two separate conferences within Region XIX, due to the addition of several new programs.  Northampton will be one of eight teams participating in a double round-robin schedule within the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC), giving NCC 14 conference/region games.  Division III men's basketball teams in New Jersey will compete in the Garden State Athletic Conference and will play 20 conference/region games.  Teams from the two conferences may crossover and play each other, however the games will count on their overall record only ... not their region records.

"It is going to be an exciting year," remarked Foley, "with all the additions and schedule changes it is really hard to predict what is going to happen ... I am really looking forward to the new format."

The Spartans will open the season on Novmeber 4th when they host perennial Region III power Onondaga Community College (Syracuse, NY) and then host another Region III foe, Tompkins Cortland Community College (Cortland, NY) on November 10th before opening their EPAC schedule on November 13th when they travel to Luzerne County Community College.

Other EPAC members include; Luzerne County Community College, Bucks County Community College, Delaware County Community College, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Harrisburg Area Community College, Montgomery County Community College and Stevens College.

In addition to the teams listed above, the Spartans have a tremendous slate of non-conference games including; Broome Community College, Ocean County College, Union County College, Essex County College (NJCAA Division II), PSU-Schuylkill, Sussex County Community College and the County College of Morris (NJCAA Division II).
