PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The #1 ranked Northampton women's basketball team, playing their first game since December 18th, remained undefeated with a convincing 75-44 victory over the Community College of Philadelphia on Tuesday evening.
Tiara Aziz scored 19 points and
Alyssa Gibson added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists as the Spartans won their 16th consecutive game.
Brianna Clymer recorded a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.
"It was a good opportunity to shake off a little rust," remarked Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "while I thought we did some things fairly well, we will really need to be ready to play on Thursday when we face Union."
NCC, 16-0 overall and 6-0 in Region XIX, will face one of their toughest challenges of the season when they travel to Cranford, NJ on Thursday to face the defending Division II champion, Union County College Owls. Union is currently 13-5 overall and 7-2 in Region XIX.
