BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team will open the second semester this weekend when they travel to Herkimer, NY to compete in the "Philly" Tournament at Herkimer County Community College.
The Spartans (10-4 overall) will face NJCAA Division I power ASA College at 6pm in the second game of the tournament doubleheader on Saturday. Herkimer, ranked #4 in the country in the latest Division III poll, will host Alfred State College at 4pm.
"We are very excited to be part of this tournament," remarked Head Coach Kevin Foley, "ASA is a very strong DI program, Alfred State is a proven winner in DII and Herkimer is obviously a national contender in Division III, so we have our work cut out for us."
Northampton is led by sophomore
Jaylonn Tullis, who averages 19.6 ppg and 7.2 rpg. The Spartans, who average 79 points per game, have three players averaging in double figures; Tullis,
Andrew Miller (16.8) and
Dontae Davis (14.3).
