BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team put up 62 second half points en route to a 106-57 victory over visiting Luzerne County Community College on Tuesday evening at the Arthur L Scott Spartan Center, in their 2013-14 home opener.
Jahbri Hargrove (9 rebounds) led five players in double figures for Northampton with 18, followed by
Astin Jones 16,
Tyler Krchnavi and
Malcolm Lyles 15 each and
Joe Orender 14.
"I'm very happy with the balanced offensive output tonight," commented Head Coach Mike Kaminski, "the guys really shared the ball and played hard on the defensive end as well, creating some opportunities out on the break."
The Spartans, who led by 18 at halftime, outscored the Trailblazers by 31 in the second half for the 49 point victory.
Derek Kulp hauled down 10 rebounds and
Brent Maron added 4 assists to pace NCC.
Northampton returns to action on Friday November 15th at 6pm at the County College of Morris Bracket Buster Tournament, where they will face Division II Orange County Community College.
Northampton improves to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Luzerne falls to 0-3 on the season.
