LANCASTER, Pa. - Trailing by 4, 68-64, late in the second half, the Northampton men's basketball team rallied for a 79-71 victory over Thaddeus Stevens College on Thursday evening in Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action.
Malcolm Lyles scored 22 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, dished out 5 assists and had 4 steals, while
Tyler Krchnavi (Palisades) added 8 points and 7 rebounds and Jahbri Hargrove (Norristown) had 17 points and 8 rebounds to pace Northampton, which improved to 4-0 in conference play.
"We were plagued by foul trouble and poor shooting tonight," remarked Head Coach Mike Kaminski, "but credit Stevens, they were the reason behind that. Late in the game we were finally able to step up our pressure and create some turnovers which turned the game in our favor. As I said earlier this season, every game in this conference, especially on the road, is a challenge ... you need to come ready to play."
Northampton, now 6-2 overall, hits the road again on Saturday as the travel to Harrisburg to face the Hawks at 3pm at the HACC Arena.
