HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team used balance scoring and solid defense to earn a conference road victory on Saturday afternoon, downing Harrisburg Area Community College, 62-54.
The Spartans placed four players in double figures, led by
Katie Schickling with 16,
Brianna Morales 14, Alaura Workman 13 and
Lauren Thompson who recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
"It was a good game throughout," commented Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "I thought Harrisburg played well ... we really struggled offensively today, but we had enough down the stretch to get the win. Lacey (LaRezza) was very solid defensively for us with 5 blocked shots and we contined to spread the scoring around."
Northampton, now 5-3 overall and 3-0 in Region XIX, will be off until December 3rd when they host conference rival Lehigh Carbon Community College at 6pm.
Harrisburg falls to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in Region XIX.
