BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team dropped their home opener, 67-58, to Lackawanna College on Thursday night at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
Lackawanna, a Division II member of the NJCAA, came back from a 5-point halftime deficit to outscore the Spartans 43-29 in the second half to earn the victory and remain undefeated at 3-0.
"We lost our composure in the second half and it killed us," remarked Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "we were playing well and then we let it get away ... Lackawanna went on a small run and we couldn't respond."
Brianna Morales had 27 points to pace Northampton,
Lauren Thompson (Pine Grove) added 8 while Alaura Workman hauled down a team-high 12 rebounds and
Lacey LaRezza blocked 4 shots.
